Journal impact factor (expressed relative to the average for the discipline) is negatively correlated with α′.

The relationship is noisy (R2 = 0.043, Spearman correlation = -0.19), but the results indicate that journals with strong gender homophily tend to have lower impact factors than journals from the same discipline that have weaker homophily.
