Interactions: The Cover Stories (data)

A journal cover is usually eye-catching and compelling, but what will become of it as electronic journals overtake traditional print publishing? Articles that are featured on journal covers are given a prominent place in the public eye, but in the era of PDFs, does being a featured article guarantee a high Altmetric score? We collected all of the cover articles in Nature and Science that were published within the past year (Jan 2012 - Jan 2013) and looked at their Altmetric scores. These data appear in companion to a blog post on the Altmetric blog.
