IT Successes & Failures in Healthcare

Many challenges have been faced in the healthcare industry related to information technology matters, resulting in a number of project success and failure in both integrated industry, currently known as health informatics. The landscape began to change with the advent of the information revolution. Information Technologies (IT) has enabled many of the administrations, trainings, operations and information to be integrated, automated and performed efficiency. Moreover, from the medical field, disciplines like healthcare, clinical, biomedical, nursing and others related have merger and form into an integrated industry, call Health Informatics. Such projects like electronic healthcare records, medical virtual reality, biomedical data modeling, telemedicine and clinical data repositories done in the merge industry are seen as the key to revolutionizing the healthcare. In this essay, four related medical discipline as mentioned before, are being selected and discussed, as suitable case studies to demonstrate IT successes and failures in healthcare.
