Hungry for books in a broken city

This short paper details the launch of a book exchange in a fridge on a demolition site in post earthquake Christchurch in collaboration with Gap Filler www.gapfiller.org.nz. This paper references the authors personal point of view of this lived experience and illustrates it with examples from the public response to the installation. This is a revised version of a chapter submitted to The Community Lovers Guide to the Universe collection of writing about community libraries in 2013.
