Holdsworth 1812 Commemoration Network Database

This is the master database used in my Master's project and mentioned in the Major Research Essay. It is a controlled-vocabulary, multi-sheet database. Sheets one through three represent the organizations, women, and years while sheet four combines the relationships between the information on the previous sheets and was used to create the .csv files. Any highlighted cell on sheet four represents ranking by location on the list as the IODE stops listing the vice-presidents as 1st, 2nd, etc. in favour of just vice-president. The information collected in the database is drawn from the respective year given in the organization’s annual report or newsletter, along with some information from secondary literature, the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and other digitally available sources. The Annual Reports for the United Empire Loyalist Association of Ontario and Ontario Historical Society are available from Internet Archive and the information from the IODE is drawn from research at Library and Archives Canada Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire fonds in the annual reports or Echoes, the IODE's newsletter.
