Functional distances of MHC class I PBRs between 128 female and 127 male reed warbler individuals

Overall functional distances of MHC class I peptide binding regions (PBR) between each female and each male. The functional distances are based on physio-chemical binding properties of the amino acids in the PBR.

The field research was financially supported by the Polish State Committee for Scientific Research (grant 2P04F05330) and the University of Wrocław (projects 1018/S/IZ/2008–2011 (LH) and 2020/W/IZ/2007–2009 (HS, EK)). Molecular MHC analyses were performed at Lund University thanks to the Swedish Institute scholarship for LH (382/00822/2011). Microsatellite analyses were finansed by the Polish Ministry for Science and Higher Education (grant NN 304 390939 for HS).
