Same as Figure 2 but with single-interval and single-region genera removed from both the background and mass extinction intervals. Latest Katian (A) and late Hirnantian (B) genera ranked by their median predicted extinction risk based on the four background interval models that can be analyzed after exclusion of single-interval genera (S2, K1, K2, and K3). Bars indicate full range of risk predictions from background models. Genera that survived are indicated by blue, those that went extinct are indicated by red. Enlarge figure in online version to read genus names. Labels indicate core members of the deep-water “Foliomena fauna”.
