A: Regression of number of observer errors by trial number and the number of demonstrator errors. The trial number correlated negatively with the number of observer errors [b = −0.16, B = −0.85, SE = 0.04, t (27) = −4.22, p < 0.001], whereas the number of demonstrator errors had no significant effect [b = 0.01, B = 0.00, SE = 0.26, t (27) = 0.02, N.S). The model explains approximately 73% of the variance in the number of observer errors [R2 = 0.729, F (2, 27) = 36.38, p < 0.001]. B: We regressed the observer transit time by trial number and demonstrator transit time. The demonstrator transit time correlated positively with the observer transit time [b = 0.37, B = 0.52, SE = 0.13, t (27) = 2.97, p < 0.01]. In addition, the effect of trial number was negatively related to the observer transit time [b = −4.22, B = −0.37, SE = 1.99, t (27) = −2.12, p < 0.05].
