Evaluation of the Implementation of the National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation in Health in Brazil

<p></p><p>ABSTRACT With the aim of analyzing the implementation, in Brazil, of some components of the National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation in Health, in the period between 2004 and 2010, a case study was carried out within the scope of the Department of Science and Technology. In addition to the strategies, the following components were analyzed: the selection of priorities, the formulations of calls for proposals, the monitoring and the evaluation of the policy. It was implemented in relation to most of the strategies proposed, particularly, with regard to the induction, expansion and decentralization of the fostering. It is discussed the historical conditions of possibility besides the problems, obstacles and limits of the policy, as well as the actuality of this historical case, that can be considered as exemplary.</p><p></p>
