Evaluation of a psychosocial screen in a large injury compensation organisation
thesis
posted on 2018-03-06, 06:13 authored by MAATJE CATHARINA JACOBA SCHEEPERSThis study evaluated a psychosocial screening measure introduced in a large motor vehicle accident compensation organisation. The purpose of the screen was to identify clients at risk of poorer Pain, Mental Health, and Return to Work outcomes as part of their new service delivery model. The findings from the evaluation of the screen's measurement properties and staff perceptions regarding its use and utility (i.e. implementation outcomes) suggest that the screen and its implementation were not very effective. Introducing a screening tool as part of a larger program requires a clear implementation plan, organisational support, a clear protocol for delivery of targeted interventions matching the screening risk category.
