This thesis investigates sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in crisis settings of armed conflicts and environmental disasters from a feminist political economy perspective. Drawing on the case of the Philippines, it provides an empirically-informed analysis of the political, economic and socio-cultural processes that enable and exacerbate the undermining of bodily autonomy at the household, state and global levels. By beginning with the health and well-being of women and girls, this thesis reveals the current gap between emergency relief assistance in crisis settings and long-term material redistribution required to realise the goal of gender equality.
