Female Sprague-Dawley rats were housed in semi-naturalistic environments. The frequency, duration and temporal distribution of burrowing, climbing, upright standing and lateral stretching were recorded from video when rats were 3, 8 and 13 months old. Frequency of lateral stretching was also recorded in 13 month old rats housed in standard laboratory cages. Videos were scored by 2 scorers, so inter-observer reliability data are also provided.
