Database used for evaluation of SALSA

This dataset consists of a subset of the ADNI database (http://adni.loni.usc.edu/), including 17 FLAIR scans with Alzheimer disease, acquired by a Siemens MAGNETOM Trio 3T scanner with the voxel size of 0.85×0.85×5.0 mm, changeable echo time (TE) of 149.42 ms, inversion time (TI) of 2250 ms, repetition time (TR) of 11002 ms, flip angle of 90°, and resolution of 256×256×42. It was used to evaluate our new method, called SALSA, for segmentation of white-matter hyperintensity lesions.
This dataset consists of six archive files:
"01_Source Images.zip" includes 17 source FLAIR images in the NIFTI format.
"02_Ground Thruth" includes 17 MAT files saved in the MATLAB environment. Each file includes a 3D binary image which determines hyperintensity voxels in the corresponding source image according to the expert delineation.
"03_Preprocessing Results" includes the 3D subject images after performing the preprocessing steps including rigid and non-rigid regisrations and bias correction.
"04_Probability Map of Skull" includes the probability maps of the skull for each subject image determined by the segmentation step.
"05_Probability Map of WM" includes the probability maps of the white matter for each subject image determined by the segmentation step.
"06_FLAIR Atlas" includes the source FLAIR atlas (GG.nii) and its processed version (RT_GG.nii) given by registration with the ICBM152 template.
