This figure illustrates the onion layer relationships within a dialogue game between a protocol, which defines what is permitted, reasoning, which defines what is relevant, and strategy, which defines what is good. The strategically good utterances are further illustrated in relation to the optimal utterances which are a subset of the permitted, relevant, and good things that can be said.
