Change in optical thickness of cardiomyocyte during contraction

Time-series of quantitative phase images of contracting cardiomyoycyte, calculated relative to a single image in the series to show the change in optical thickness at each point. Colormap scale is optical path difference between the cell and the surrounding medium, taken relative to the first image in the sequence. Images were taken at 50 fps using a diffraction phase microscope.
