BG: Basal ganglia. PH: Posterior Hippocampus. PWM: Periventricular white matter. TH: Thalamus). The individual methylation values for each brain sample are shown with cases (individuals with evidence of Alzheimer’s Disease) represented by open circles and controls (no apparent neurodegeneration beyond that expected for age) by closed circles. The population distribution of methylation levels in blood are shown on the same methylation scale.
