In January 2016, a group of <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FT4kYWJdAiwR6UaG1G84I4s5YGCFUMZ5qEaPtTQ4jX8/edit#heading=h.lof8qzyrdal9">eight associations and publishers</a> led by eLife, PLOS, and The Royal Society, launched an <a href="https://orcid.org/content/requiring-orcid-publication-workflows-open-letter">open letter</a> committing their organizations to requiring ORCID iDs for (at a minimum) corresponding authors of accepted papers and inviting other organizations to do the same. One year on, how successful has this initiative been?
