For three low voices (or groups of voices) and a.m. radios.

The work explores the relationship of long, low sung words and the way they interact with radio static. The Black Disciples is a large African American street gang based in Chicago, Illinois. The Black Disciples symbols include the roman numeral three (III), representing 'mind, body and soul', which are included in the closing words of the piece.

Premiered at Shock of the New, April 2013.
Eneksis Chior at Sound Spectrum Festival, on May 21, 2013
Recorded by ABC CLassic FM in April, 2013, at Studio 620, Perth (three non singer male voices).
Also performed by Cathexis Ensemble, Melbourne in April, and August 2014.

To perform this work, you can download the video and use that as the score, or download the iPad app, the Decibel ScorePlayer which has many more features such as the ability to network multiple iPads (one for each member in the ensemble if desired), change the speed, move around for rehearsal etc. Instructions on how to put the file in the player are here. The file is a 'dsz' extension. A digital or hard copy of the score is available from Material Press.
