Authentication of 4-chloro-3-hydroxy-biphenyl by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, and GC-MS. The title compound was synthesized by demethylation of 3-methoxy-4-chloro-biphenyl in the presence of BBr₃. The purity (>99%) of the compound was determined based on relative peak area by GC-MS.
