In Asia, the incidence of chemotherapy-related cardiovascular complications among cancer patients was 4.7%. In a multi-ethnic population in Asia who were at risk for anthracycline-related cardiotoxicities (ACT) at a lower cumulative dose and a younger age, the incidence of ACT was 4.6%. The four-factor ACT prediction model developed from demographic and clinical characteristics can potentially be use in clinical practice. Genetic studies found that single nucleotide polymorphisms are potential predictors for antineoplastic-related cardiotoxicity such as ABCC2 rs8187710, CYBA rs4673 and RAC2 rs13058338 in ACT. Combination of demographic, clinical and genotypes effects could be the future in predicting chemotherapy-related cardiovascular complications.
