A limerick ode regarding the application of X-ray tomography to tephrochronology

A limerick performed at ToScA 2015 (Tomography for Scientific Advancement conference) held at Manchester University as an introduction to a poster given at the same event found in the link list below.

The brief for the talk is that it must introduce the poster being presented, have one slide associated with it (found in the link below) and be no longer than one minute and thirty seconds. I joked to a colleague that the only way for me to speak for no more than the time limit was with a script or perhaps a poem!
Working somewhat backwards, the final lines of the poem came to me before the rest, but working systematically through the process of data collection and analysis the limerick came together.

I was delighted that it recieved such positive feedback and special mention from the organising committee at the conference banquet.
