Eventually they form some rules-of-thumb based on their past decisions which they apply to new situations. This research proposes an "intelligent" advisory system called Case-Based Decision Support System (CB-DSS) which supports decision making processes by recalling past decisions and adapting similar cases to novel decision scenarios. CB-DSS serves as a memory aid which assists in forming some consistency to decision making. The architecture of CB-DSS comprises heterogenous components which perform quantitative information processing and qualitative reasoning depending on the coomplexity of the situation.
