This data was gathered from sequenced genomes in the NCBI database and the ICA was done using FastICA in R. Independent component analysis shows the seperation of the phyla better then PCA. However all three plots (xy, PCA, ICA) allow a complete picture of the relaitonships between genome size, GC content, and number of proteins and genes. I need to dive into this more but I believe that these plots can be used to talk about evolutionary trends. ER -
