For the sixth and final webinar in our series, we explore the value and benefits that Earth Science data bring to society, including its contributions to economics and quality of life through educational systems. The challenges and opportunities for enhancing Earth System and Climate Science societal benefits through education are broadly addressed. Much of the panel will focus on the CLEAN project, a large database collection of educational resources and a support network for teaching about climate and energy topics. CLEAN provides opportunities for educators to use earth science data in their classrooms, enhancing student experience and societal benefit by increasing understanding of climate science. Our panel will also discuss database management and analysis of database use for CLEAN. Our panel represents expertise from education, earth and climate science, data and informatics, engineering, social sciences, and policy. Panelists provide examples of techniques and approaches that can be used to enhance educational value and highlight some communities of practice that are currently addressing these issues.
