The role of managers in the development of sustainability-oriented innovation: An absorptive capacity perspective ELNAZ MOHABBATTALAB 10.26180/5c05e154c93f1 https://bridges.monash.edu/articles/thesis/The_role_of_managers_in_the_development_of_sustainability-oriented_innovation_An_absorptive_capacity_perspective/7413671 The research explores the adoption process for sustainability-oriented innovation (SOI), the processes that enable firms to integrate sustainability into their supply chain. However, little is known regarding the internal adoption process or the role of managers in adoption and assimilation. This research examines the degree to which managers act within and outside a firm to acquire and assimilate innovative ideas and turn them into sustainable products and services. Using qualitative data of 40 directors and managers in Australia and the USA, it offers insight as to the processes needed by firms to enable them to commercialise sustainable products and services. 2018-12-04 02:07:14 Sustainability-oriented innovation Absorptive capacity Qualitative approach Organisation and Management Theory
