Upon encounter with cancer cell CAFs activate the IFNβ pathway which limits cancer cells' migration. When mutant p53 is present in the cancer cells, this pathway is moderated via SOCS1 mediated inhibition of STAT1 phosphorylation. IFNβ is able to reduce mutant p53 RNA levels by attenuating the expression of mutant p53 RNA stabilizer WIG1.</p>
