Overgaard, Anne Julie M. Weir, Jacquelyn Jayawardana, Kaushala Bindesbøl, Henrik Pociot, Flemming J. Meikle, Peter Blood plasma lipidomics peak area data from 123 pediatric patients diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus generated by targeted mass spectrometry This dataset consists of a single Excel <b>xlsx</b> file containing peak area data for 353 lipid species identified by targeted mass spectrometry from 123 children and adolescents diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus.<div><br></div><div>Individuals studied herein were participants in the Danish Remission Phase Study, a long-term observational study conducted in four Danish pediatric departments. All participants were aged under 17 years old and had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Plasma samples from 1, 3, 6, 12 and, for a sub-population (n=37) 60 months post-onset were analysed.</div><div><br></div><div>Lipid extractions from the plasma samples were analysed using an Agilent 1290 liquid chromatography system coupled to an Agilent 6490 triple quadrapole mass spectrometer using scheduled multiple reaction monitoring in positive ion mode.</div><div><br></div><div>This dataset contains raw peak area data for 353 lipid species across 25 classes. These classes and their abbreviations as used in the dataset are as follows:</div><div><br></div><div><div>* cholesteryl ester (CE),</div><div>* ceramide (Cer),</div><div>* free cholesterol (COH),</div><div>* diacylglycerol (DG),</div><div>* dihexosylceramide (DHC),</div><div>* dihydroceramide (dhCer),</div><div>* GM3 ganglioside (GM3),</div><div>* lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC),</div><div>* monohexosylceramide (MHC),</div><div>* oxidized phosphatidylcholine (OxPC),</div><div>* phosphatidylcholine (PC),</div><div>* alkylphosphatidylcholine (PC(O)),</div><div>* alkenylphosphatidylcholine (plasmalogen, PC(P)),</div><div>* phosphatidylethanolamine (PE),</div><div>* alkylphosphatidylethanolamine (PE(O)),</div><div>* phosphatidylethanolamine plasmalogen (PE(P)),</div><div>* phosphatidylglycerol (PG),</div><div>* phosphatidylinositol (PI),</div><div>* phosphatidylserine (PS),</div><div>* sphingomyelin (SM),</div><div>* triacylglycerol (TG),</div><div>* trihexosylceramide (THC)</div></div><div><br></div><div>QC results and internal standards are also included.</div><div><br></div><div>Further analysis and explanation of these data are presented in the accompanying manuscript.<br></div> lipidomics;metabolomics;diabetes mellitus;type 1 diabetes;mass spectrometry;multiple reaction monitoring;lipids 2018-12-05
