A context aware higher frequency data collection approach to studying chronic pain GohTian 2018 This thesis used advances in online and mobile technology to address the limitations in existing clinical data collection approaches for studying chronic pain. The thesis used a participatory design science research methodology and proposed a novel higher frequency data collection approach. This approach incorporates the patient's context in addition to self reported pain data. The findings have contributed towards a better understanding of chronic pain, which could have an impact on the accuracy of current data collection approaches, and can lead to better treatment for chronic pain.
