WANNIARACHCHI, WANNIARACHCHILLAGE AYAL MANETH A New Stimulation Methodology for Extraction of Natural Gas from Deep and Tight Geological Formations This thesis investigates a new stimulation technique to extract natural gases from reservoir ‎rocks, that considers the fracture characteristics as well as the permeability of the rocks. The ‎technique discussed in this thesis involves the use of a foam-based fluid, which is a more ‎environmentally friendly alternative when compared with conventional fracturing fluids such ‎as water. The thesis has pragmatic outcomes, that may contribute to the knowledge of ‎petroleum industry.‎ shale gas;hydraulic fracturing;foam based fluids;two-phase flow;permeability;Civil Geotechnical Engineering 2018-05-11
