This article aimed to identify, understand and analyze the images, ideas and perceptions about hematology y technical course taught in a school of public health, in Brazil. Methodologically, this was action research carried out between March 2012 and December 2013, with teachers, students and technical references. We found that the course was considered relevant, with good content, despite its centralization in the city in the southeast of the country. We conclude that schooling in hematology is done urgently, however, inserting techniques and process of labor relations in the field of Hematology is marked by weakness and absence of the guidelines.
