Tapping into Recovery: Exploring Experiences of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) KALLAMAHIMA 2019 This thesis explores users' experiences of utilising a contemporary therapeutic intervention, called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for supporting physical chronic disease healthcare. Eight chronic disease patients and eight EFT practitioners were interviewed for this study. An in-depth exploration of the sixteen participants' experiences of using EFT to support chronic disease healthcare was undertaken using a qualitative research methodology. Findings of this study suggest that chronic disease patients may benefit from a holistic healthcare approach, which incorporates psychological and social support in addition to biomedical support. The findings of the study have been synthesised in an original healthcare model that views the patient as a 'whole-person', and guides patient healthcare in accordance with patients' unique life circumstances and experiences.
