In particular the use of deities representations, which are worshiped in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and its possible functional similarity in the teaching practice with the Greek myths. Another objective of the narrative is to demonstrate the challenges for teaching diversity and ethnic-racial relations in Brazil as well as to evaluate a lesson plan of the History discipline held in a public high school in the city of Porto Alegre, the capital city of the State. In order to interpret the results of the lesson proposal, the reports produced by the students themselves were analyzed. By means of the method of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2009) in its qualitative aspects, having as documentary corpus the students’ records, we observed the interest and the motivation on the part of the students of the seven classes involved in the activity.
