Sellars, Elizabeth Margaret Sutherland Violin Concerto Elizabeth Sellars performs Margaret Sutherland's only violin concerto with the Monash Academy Orchestra conducted by Alex Briger at the Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University. The concerto has been only rarely performed and is one of Sutherland's masterpieces. It is representative of her unique compositional style which combines sweeping lyrical gestures with an astringent harmonic language. Sellars worked from the autograph researching Sutherland's performance style and referencing the only known recording with violinist Leonard Dommett and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Patrick Thomas.
