Other Worlds: Creatures of the In-between is a studio-based research project exploring the presence of creatures–including monsters, mythical beasts, animals, supernatural and hybrid human figures–in contemporary art and how they relate to theories of cultural identity, hybridity and feminist strategies. Through a series of artworks shaped by storytelling, creatures and hybrid figures are re-imagined as agents of transformation: driven by investigating the potential for art to create a space of ‘good spirits’ for living in a precarious world.
