STELLATO, MATTHEW ROSS Assembly and secretion of outer membrane proteins that depend on the Translocation and Assembly Module in Klebsiella pneumoniae This study sought to ascertain a function of the Translocation and Assembly Module in K. pneumoniae. This study found that the TAM may have a role in adherence and biofilm formation, and in K. pneumoniae-macrophage interactions. Future research will seek to further define the role of the TAM in K. pneumoniae virulence, and provide greater understanding toward a mechanism of TAM-mediated outer-membrane protein biogenesis.
