Mobile Control of Intelligent Lighting Systems TANGSAMUEL JIA WEI 2017 This thesis focuses on and uses the sensors and capabilities of typical Android devices to improve upon current intelligent lighting systems. An intelligent lighting system framework was developed which comprises of a wirelessly controlled luminaire, a main controller, and a custom-built Android application. A daylight harvesting algorithm using the ambient light sensor is developed and tested. Two color control algorithms are also presented to ensure the light produced is as selected by the user. Together, these algorithms on the intelligent lighting system framework would be able to provide accurate and dynamic lighting to dramatically improve user satisfaction.
