Lungs were harvested at day three after challenge, and virus titers determined as described (<a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0009349#s2" target="_blank">Methods</a>). Lack of detection of virus in lungs was considered indicative of protection.</p>
