Joly, Marine Micheletta, Jérôme De Marco, Arianna Langermans, Jan A. H. M. Sterck, Elisabeth M. Waller, Bridget Video 8 from Comparing physical and social cognitive skills in macaque species with different degrees of social tolerance A longtailed macaque performing in an Inhibitory Control trial. In the Inhibitory Control task, rewards were placed under the two outer cups of 3 cups, while the subject was watching. The middle cup remained empty and untouched. If the subject first chose one of the outer cups it was allowed to make a second choice. If, however, it chose the middle cup first, no further choices were possible. A correct response was scored when the monkey chose the two outer cups in succession while skipping the middle cup (as illustrated here in this video). cognition;evolution;friendship;communication;monkeys;great apes 2017-08-14
