Communications) %K Image Processing %K Optical Technology %K Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing %X This study focuses on range gated technique applied to target detection and recovery, night vision, underwater, and three-dimensional (3D) imaging. The objective is to improve the range modelling and system performance through the fundamental study of the influence factors on 3D range gated reconstruction. This study proposes a novel range estimation model to address the effects caused by the influence factors to accomplish accurate reconstruction. These include the distance, target reflection, illumination, and noise factor. A comprehensive 3D range gated reconstruction framework comprising the system enhancement and post-processing is also proposed to provide optimised solution. %I Monash University
