What makes organisations succeed?: an examination of some of the characteristics of excellent and visionary companies TerziovskiMilé KanchanAshish 2017 This paper examines some of the characteristics of "excellent" and "visionary " companies. Based on secondary research data a multiple cross company analysis has been conducted to identify some of the common themes in successful organisations. In a dynamic business environment organisations built around their core competence with flexible structures are critical factors leading to organisational success. However, the driving force of most companies seems to be in the area of customer satisfaction. Other success factors include, entrepreneurship, a home grown management team and people centered organisations. In consideration of the above, certain implications for managers have been appropriately identified.
