GloPID-R
is a network of research funding organizations in the area of infectious
disease preparedness research. Together,
these funders intend to develop a system for data sharing in public health
emergencies which can support the scientific research response. To this end
GloPID-R formed a working group on data sharing, one of whose tasks is the
development of these core principles which are intended to support the development of systems for data sharing
in PHEs that can be recognised by and adhered to by all stakeholders.

They are being shared with the express intention of
seeking buy-in and, where possible, endorsement from the broader community
including researchers, responders and other agencies.

This document is being shared for an initial period of
public consultation between 1st April and 26th May 2017. All comments received
during this period will be considered and reviewed by the working group, and a
revised version will then be published. Following this initial consultation,
these principles will continue to be reviewed and revised periodically.

Although the formal consultation period has now closed, please do send any comments to Sophie Mathewson at phedata[at]wellcome.ac.uk
