A water quality model for Westernport Bay Pollock, T. J. 10.4225/03/589ab4776c6e2 https://bridges.monash.edu/articles/thesis/A_water_quality_model_for_Westernport_Bay/4629571 The object of this project was to develop a Water Quality Model for Westernport Bay. The literature describing the dispersion process was critically examined and it was concluded that the Lagrangian des- scription is a more direct representation of the actual dispersion process. Therefore the Lagrangian random walk model was developed to model the transport of conservative wastes in turbulent flow. A variety of field experiments were carried out to assess the different process causing mixing in Westernport Bay, and their relative importance. Computer programs were developed for a hydrodynamic and random walk transport model. When calibration and verification have been completed it is believed that the Water Quality Model described herein will be a useful tool in representing waste movement in Westernport Bay. 2017-02-08 06:02:29 Westernport Bay ethesis-20160902-09136 Waste dispersion 1973 Lagrangian thesis(masters) 1959.1/1281660 Water quality Restricted access monash:173104
