A water-soluble bimetallic
normal (“cold”) and radiochemical (“hot”)
gallium–porphyrin–ruthenium–bipyridine complex
(<b>GaporRu-1</b>) has been synthesized by microwave methodology
in short reaction times with
good (>85%) yields. <b>68</b><b>GaporRu-1</b> is demonstrated to be a potential multimodal and functional bioprobe
for positron emission tomography (PET), lysosome specific optical
imaging, and photodynamic therapy.
