An alkylation of aminals with organozinc reagents derived from allyl bromide, benzyl bromide, α-bromoacetate, and α-bromonitrile proceeded efficiently in the presence of TMSCl and diisopropylamine. This reaction system was applied to the synthesis of an antispasmodic: butaverine.
