Daniel Helman

Lecturer / Researcher (Other education not elsewhere classified)

Ton Duc Thang University

I work in several areas, including seismic and non-seismic earthquake precursors, sustainability, alternative energy, labor relations, mental health and the arts, plus mineralogy, and earth sciences generally. Academia is my third career. Previously, I worked as a sculptor and fine artist; and then, as a teacher. I'm trained as an adult school instructor and have worked with the disabled and also with immigrants to the US, teaching ESL. My scientific interests are very broad, and include novel materials for solar panels, nature-based geoengineering, material uses of lightning, and several others. I founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit for independent researchers, called the Winkle Institute. I plan to do more work in the arts, education, leadership and science.
