Statistical analysis of next-generation sequencing data with applications to type 1 diabetes studies

This thesis focused on addressing certain statistical and computational challenges when using next-generation sequening (DNA pool sequencing, RNA-sequencing, and bisulphite methylation sequencing) in genomic studies related to the common autoimmune disorder type 1 diabetes.
