This figure shows quadratic discriminant analysis of a 5 years of plankton time series data to try and tell apart bloom and non-bloom dynamics.  Blue points were identified as bloom phase, and red points non-bloom.  The red and blue areas correspond to where the discriminant analysis predicts the points should be.
